I enjoyed 'ponsing' with these tools - I've quickly done the following - nothing flash due to increase work load! (no I'm not kidding) - this is all your getting - I mean it!

RSS feeds
Hi,
I found RSS feeds very convenient.... log on to my reader and all my favorite local and international news at my fingertips (and for free!!).
I found feeds just by browsing sights, and by searching from Google reader. However, if you wished to be more specific using the rss feed search programs would be more effective, especially if looking for blogs on your desired subject.
Useful in the workplace for keeping abreast with current developments in the industry "ie other libraries or librarians blogs" etc

My thoughts on Technology
I didn't realise there was so much out there!
Some of it I can take or leave - such a Gizmoz - OK for the groovy young things or those with to much time on their hands. However, such technolgy would be useful legitimately for promotional or instructional uses .. eg. as the tour guide on a virtual library tour, or as a pop-up commentator.
The blogs can be useful for work related sharing of info, or as patron info, or if you had a hobby that fostered some discussion. Also, blogs about good/bad holiday experiences etc can be very useful.
However, such blogs as "Housebound Freds Daily Routine Blog" and "Hi I'm Paris, lets talk about hair and beauty products" should be given a miss. (unless thats your thing)
Generally, I feel somewhat overwhelmed by the web, too many little sites/products with so many different log ons, and possibly things that need to be administered etc. However, things such as banking, renewing books, finding information are great.
What does the future hold... we'll see.. hopefully still some human interaction
