I didn't realise there was so much out there!
Some of it I can take or leave - such a Gizmoz - OK for the groovy young things or those with to much time on their hands. However, such technolgy would be useful legitimately for promotional or instructional uses .. eg. as the tour guide on a virtual library tour, or as a pop-up commentator.
The blogs can be useful for work related sharing of info, or as patron info, or if you had a hobby that fostered some discussion. Also, blogs about good/bad holiday experiences etc can be very useful.
However, such blogs as "Housebound Freds Daily Routine Blog" and "Hi I'm Paris, lets talk about hair and beauty products" should be given a miss. (unless thats your thing)
Generally, I feel somewhat overwhelmed by the web, too many little sites/products with so many different log ons, and possibly things that need to be administered etc. However, things such as banking, renewing books, finding information are great.
What does the future hold... we'll see.. hopefully still some human interaction

Some technologies like 'Gizmoz' can be lower level versions of technology that the workplace will use. I have read that there are now businesses paying companies to create animated business cards, probably of a much higher standard the freebie you can create with Gizmoz. So an animated person appears and introduces the company rather than a flat web page. Maybe if this becomes the norm for a front page of a web site then the Library will create one? I did try to find an example but couldn't, maybe someone else knows of one?
